About the role
Papatoetoe High School is a large, co-educational state secondary school in South Auckland, serving a vibrant and culturally diverse community. We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Health Centre team. This is a part-time position working 3 days per week, 7 hours per day, from 8.15am to 3.45pm during school terms. Our school Health Centre provides a confidential and accessible health service for our students and works closely with whānau, pastoral staff and external health providers.
Key responsibilities
- Providing first aid and nursing care to students and staff
- Youth health consultations, referrals and follow-up
- ACC-related treatment and referrals
- Supporting students with ongoing health needs
- Promoting student health and wellbeing
- Maintaining accurate and confidential health records
- Working collaboratively with our pastoral team, whānau and external health providers
About you
- NZ Registered Nurse with a current Annual Practising Certificate (APC)
- Enjoys working with young people
- Youth health experience or willing to undertake further professional development
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Culturally responsive and able to work effectively within a diverse school community
- Confident working collaboratively as part of a wider pastoral team
- Must meet relevant Children's Act safety-checking and Police vetting requirements
- Must have the legal right to work in New Zealand
