About the role

The Hawera HospiceShop is looking for a skilled truck driver / furniture assistant. The truck can be driven on a Car license. The successful applicant will report directly to the Manager while also working alongside both paid staff and volunteers. This role is for 20 hours paid work per week, Monday to Friday, 9.30am till 1.30pm, including a 10 min paid tea break.

Key responsibilities

• Drive the truck to pick up and deliver furniture, including picking up and delivering Palliative Care equipment

• Travel to Stratford HospiceShop and to the warehouse in New Plymouth as required for distribution of stock

• Ensure the truck is kept clean and complete the required daily 'Truck check list'

• When not on the road, assist in the shop by putting clean furniture out onto the shop floor

• Assist customers to put purchased furniture into their vehicles

• Man the donation bay

About you

• Must have a good level of fitness

• Physically able to move furniture

• Good people skills essential

• Must have a full NZ driver licence

Hourly Rate: $27.25
