Baygold is seeking skilled Horticultural Machinery Operators to deliver high-quality orchard machinery services across our kiwifruit operations. Key responsibilities:
- Operate a range of horticultural machinery safely and effectively, including tractors, attachments, and orchard equipment
- Complete orchard operations including spraying, mowing, mulching, compost spreading, and fertiliser application
- Operate an Atom Self-Propelled Orchard Sprayer where trained and required
- Communicate with Orchard Managers and on-site teams to coordinate work
- Complete pre-start checks, equipment inspections, and basic machinery maintenance
- Clean and maintain machinery to a high standard
- Support harvest operations as required, including forklift and tractor work
- Follow all health and safety procedures and Safe Operating Procedures
About you:
- Experience operating tractors, farm machinery, horticultural equipment, or similar machinery
- Experience with agrichemicals and spraying operations is highly regarded
- Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to identify and troubleshoot basic equipment issues
- A proactive approach to safety and quality
- Good communication skills and the ability to work independently
- Full New Zealand driver's licence and ability to drive manual vehicles
- Forklift, Class 2 or Class 4 licences are advantageous
- Kiwifruit or horticulture experience is beneficial but not essential
