Community Facilitators – Supported Independent Living
3 x casual positions – immediate start available.
Are you passionate about making a difference in people's lives? Do you believe everyone deserves the opportunity to live life their way?
We are looking for enthusiastic, motivated, and compassionate individuals to join our Supported Independent Living (SIL) team in Hamilton, Cambridge and Te Awamutu
If you are someone who enjoys working with people, embraces new challenges and believes in empowering others to achieve their goals, we would love to hear from you!
About the Role
As a Community Facilitator, you will work alongside individuals with disabilities, supporting them to live meaningful, independent, and fulfilling lives.
Our service is all about choice, independence, empowerment, and opportunity. You will support individuals in their own homes and out in the community of their choice, helping them work towards the goals and aspirations they have set for their own lives.
Whether it's building confidence, developing life skills, exploring new interests, making connections in the community, or achieving personal milestones, your role is to encourage, motivate and support people to succeed.
We believe in walking alongside the people we support, not leading them. It's their life, their choices, and their journey. Your role is to help make those possibilities a reality.
Please note: This is not a traditional home-help or personal-care role. There are no showering, toileting or household cleaning duties involved. Our focus is on building independence, developing skills and supporting people to achieve their personal goals.
What We're Looking For
We are looking for people who bring energy, positivity, and a genuine passion for supporting others.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
A full, current driver's licence.
Your own reliable vehicle that meets current legal and road safety requirements.
A flexible, reliable, and positive attitude.
A genuine belief in the rights of people with disabilities to make their own choices and live independently.
The confidence and ability to work independently and use your initiative.
The ability to think outside the square and find creative solutions.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
A willingness to embrace new experiences and challenges.
A relevant qualification in disability support is preferred but not essential.
Most importantly, we are looking for people with a can-do attitude, a great sense of humour and a genuine desire to make a positive difference.
