About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Deli Manager to join the Tucker Fresh IGA team on a full-time basis.
As the Deli Manager, you will lead the daily operations of the deli department, ensuring exceptional food quality, freshness, presentation and customer service. You will be responsible for overseeing food preparation and production, managing stock and waste, developing your team, and driving sales and profitability through effective merchandising, production planning and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities
Lead and develop your team: Build a positive, accountable team that delivers on our promise that “Every Local Is Loved”.
Own department performance: Drive sales, manage gross profit and control wages, stock levels and operating costs.
Deliver exceptional deli offerings: Oversee the preparation, production and presentation of high-quality deli products, ready-made meals and fresh food offerings.
Manage stock and reduce waste: Oversee ordering, production planning, stock rotation, replenishment and waste control to maximise efficiency and profitability.
Create a great customer experience: Understand customer needs, respond to feedback and ensure the team delivers friendly, knowledgeable service that keeps locals coming back.
Maintain food safety and operational excellence: Ensure the department is clean, organised and compliant with food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety requirements.
About You
We're looking for a leader who combines a passion for fresh food with the commercial skills to run a successful supermarket deli department.
Ideally, you'll bring:
Previous experience managing a supermarket deli or fresh food department. Deli management experience within a supermarket environment is highly regarded.
Strong knowledge of deli operations, food preparation, product presentation, food safety and safe food handling practices.
Proven ability to manage sales, gross profit, wages, stock levels and waste.
Experience leading, coaching and developing a team, including rostering and performance management.
Strong organisational and planning skills, with the ability to manage ordering, production schedules and daily department operations.
A hands-on approach, positive attitude and a genuine passion for quality food and customer service.
The ability to work under pressure, prioritise tasks and work both autonomously and as part of a team.
A willingness and ability to relocate to Perth, Western Australia.
Experience working within an independent supermarket is highly regarded. Experience with other supermarket retailers in New Zealand is also welcome.
