About the role

TRENZSEATER International Limited is seeking a Sales, Drapery & Interior Design Consultant to join our team in Parnell, Auckland. This is a full-time position that sits at the intersection of sales expertise and interior design creativity. You will be responsible for translating client visions into exceptional drapery and interior design solutions whilst driving sales and building lasting client relationships. This role is pivotal in representing our brand's commitment to quality, innovation and personalised service. Working on-site in our Parnell showroom, you will have the opportunity to showcase our premium product range and design expertise directly to discerning clients seeking sophisticated interior solutions.

Key responsibilities

1. Consult with clients to understand their interior design needs, aesthetic preferences and budget requirements

2. Provide expert advice on drapery styles, fabrics, colours and design solutions that enhance residential and commercial spaces

3. Develop creative design concepts and mood boards that align with client briefs and current design trends

4. Prepare detailed quotations and proposals for drapery and interior design projects

5. Manage the sales process from initial consultation through to project completion and delivery

6. Maintain comprehensive knowledge of product ranges, suppliers and industry standards

7. Collaborate with manufacturers, suppliers and installation teams to ensure timely project delivery

8. Build and maintain a strong client portfolio and nurture relationships for repeat business and referrals

9. Achieve sales targets and contribute to the overall commercial success of the business

10. Provide ongoing support and aftercare to clients following project completion

What we're looking for

1. Proven experience in interior design, drapery sales or a related design field

2. Strong understanding of design principles, colour theory, fabrics and interior furnishings

3. Excellent sales skills with a demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets

4. Exceptional communication and presentation abilities with the capacity to articulate design concepts clearly

5. Advanced knowledge of drapery products, window treatments and soft furnishings

6. Proficiency in design software or visualisation tools (preferred but not essential)

7. The ability to build rapport with clients and understand their lifestyle and aesthetic aspirations

8. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, particularly when managing multiple projects simultaneously

9. A portfolio demonstrating previous interior design or drapery projects (if available)

10. Passion for design, trends and delivering exceptional customer experiences
