The Opportunity

We are seeking a Commercial Director to lead our commercial strategy, optimize business performance, and drive operational excellence across Solomon Group’s regional footprint.

While this role has a strong commercial focus, success will come from your ability to be hands-on, build strong relationships, and step in where needed to support teams, solve problems, and deliver results. You will work closely with teams across the organisation, helping remove roadblocks, improve processes, identify opportunities, and ensure commercial objectives are achieved while fostering a positive, collaborative, and high-performing culture.

Who we are looking for

Beyond strong commercial capability, we're looking for someone who is a practical, hands-on leader who gets things done. We need a person who can identify issues, roll up their sleeves, and work alongside teams to find solutions and keep the business moving forward.

You will have :

 ·       Proven experience in a commercial management, business management, government contracting, community services, or complex service-delivery environments.

·       Strong understanding of commercial principles, contract management, and business development practices.

·       Demonstrated ability to develop and execute commercial strategies that drive measurable business results.

·       Excellent negotiation and relationship management skills with the ability to build and maintain key stakeholder partnerships.

·       Strong analytical and financial acumen, including proficiency with financial modelling, budgeting, forecasting, and commercial performance metrics.

·       Outstanding communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organisation.

·       Proven leadership capability and ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams and departments.

·       A proactive problem-solver who takes ownership and follows through on outcomes.

·       Resilient, approachable, and able to navigate challenging situations with professionalism and sound judgement.

·       Problem-solving mindset with a focus on driving continuous improvement and operational excellence.

·       Tertiary qualification in business, commerce, management, or a related discipline is preferred.
