About The Role
As a Sticky Café Assistant, you'll help deliver an excellent customer experience by preparing and serving hot and cold beverages, maintaining café presentation standards, and ensuring all food safety requirements are met.
This is a varied and hands-on role where no two days are the same. You'll be interacting with customers, preparing coffee, restocking displays, maintaining cleanliness standards, and supporting the wider team when required.
Sticky Cafe Assistant: 25.75 hours
Sunday: 6:45am - 1:00pm
Monday: 6:45am - 4:15pm
Tuesday: 6:45am - 4:15pm
Responsibilities Include:
- Preparing coffee and other hot and cold beverages for customers.
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and inviting café environment.
- Cleaning and maintaining all café equipment to the required standards.
- Receiving and checking deliveries, including temperature checks where required.
- Ensuring food is stored correctly and food safety standards are maintained.
- Keeping displays and shelves fully stocked and attractively presented.
- Resolving customer enquiries and complaints in a friendly and professional manner.
- Completing daily cleaning and food safety tasks.
- Assisting with checkout duties during busy periods when required.
- Supporting the wider team with other reasonable duties as requested.
About You

You will display excellent communication skills, a positive attitude, high presentation standards, honesty, and a strong work ethic.
You Must Have:
- A customer-focused approach.
- The ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure.
- Strong communication and people skills.
- The ability to multitask and stay organised.
- The ability to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test.
- The right to work in New Zealand.
- Physical fitness to handle a fast-paced role that involves standing for long periods and some lifting.

Preferred Experience:
- Previous customer service experience.
- Experience in food retail, hospitality, or café environments.
- Experience making coffee or operating coffee machines.
- Confidence using point-of-sale systems and computerised tills.
