The role
- Operating 30T articulated dump trucks on civil construction and earthworks sites.
- Transporting soil, aggregates and other materials safely and efficiently around the site.
- Loading and tipping materials in designated areas, working closely with excavator operators and site crews.
- Navigating uneven terrain, haul roads and changing site conditions.
- Completing daily pre-start inspections and reporting any defects or maintenance requirements.
- Following site traffic management plans and health and safety procedures.
- Maintaining clear communication with other operators, supervisors and ground staff.
- Proven experience operating articulated dump trucks, ideally 30T machines.
- Previous experience on civil construction, bulk earthworks or infrastructure projects.
- A strong understanding of site safety, haul road awareness and safe tipping procedures.
- The ability to work efficiently as part of a larger civil construction team.
- Reliability, a good work ethic and a proactive attitude.
- A commitment to maintaining equipment and following safe operating practices.
Applicants should hold the appropriate New Zealand licences and demonstrate competency relevant to the role.
- A full NZ Class 1 driver's licence.
- A full Class 2 driver's licence where required for applicable heavy-vehicle driving duties.
- WTR endorsements.
- Current ConstructSafe or equivalent site safety training is advantageous where applicable.
- $30–$36 per hour, depending on experience and capability.
- Daily travel allowances to help with travel costs, subject to agreed eligibility criteria.
