Bluebells Cakery is looking for a PART TIME decorator to join its highly-esteemed Cake Decorating team!

The Job:

2 shifts per week - Friday & Saturday
Decorating beautiful cakes and cupcakes for the best cake shop in NZ.
A chance to learn new techniques and how to create quality products consistently and at scale.

The Environment:

The decorating team are based at our Kingsland cafe and kitchen.
Each staff member has their tasks but we work as a team to ensure all jobs are completed each day.
We have lots of fun projects and orders that we get to produce for our lovely customers.

The Team:

You will be working as part of the cake decorating team, reporting to the Head Cake Decorator.

The Role:

It will be your job to consistently create product that is of premium quality and presentation both to our set designs but also for custom orders.
You will assist with stock rotation and stock control ensuring product is fresh and not running out.
Production of all aspects of creating cupcakes, cakes and producing icing
Working with the team to ensure we meet all cleaning, Health & Safety and Food Control Plan requirements.
This role is physical in nature. You are standing, walking, lifting and moving all day!

About You:

You will …

Have experience with buttercream decorating - we don't use fondant.
Have a genuine passion for decorating.
Have at least 1-3 years of experience working as a Cake Decorator in a commercial kitchen or hospitality situation.
Be able to work efficiently and cleanly.
Understand the nature of decorating at scale.
Have excellent attention to detail and an artistic eye.
Care about the bigger picture, the customers’ expectations and our reputation.
Have exceptional time management skills.
Have the ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve and can be accountable for your work.
Have an ability to work under pressure.
Can work in a team in a positive and supportive way.
Have excellent communication.
