Looking for more responsibility without stepping away from hands-on catering work?
We are looking for a confident and experienced Catering Supervisor to join our ESS team at Waiouru Military Base. You will work alongside the catering team, help coordinate daily service and support staff to maintain high standards of food, hygiene and customer service.
This is a permanent full-time position offering 40 guaranteed hours every week. It is an excellent next step for an experienced catering or hospitality professional who is ready to develop their supervisory skills in a supportive and unique Defence environment.
Ko o kawenga / Your responsibilities:
- Coordinate daily catering service and allocate duties across the team
- Provide practical guidance and support to catering staff during busy services
- Assist with food preparation, portioning, presentation and service as required
- Maintain high standards of food safety, cleanliness and hygiene
- Receive, rotate and store stock correctly while monitoring daily supplies
- Follow all health and safety, food safety and Defence site procedures
He kōrero mōu / About you:
- Previous experience in catering, hospitality or a food service environment
- Experience supervising staff or coordinating shifts would be advantageous
- Confidence guiding others while remaining actively involved in daily service
- Good communication, organisation and customer service skills
- A reliable, flexible and positive approach to working in a busy environment
- A Food Handling Certificate would be advantageous
