About the role

Mangakōtukutuku College are seeking Learning Assistants to join our team in 2027. We are seeking 4 highly motivated, talented, and enthusiastic Learning Assistants to join our team, 27 hours per week. (Permanent-Term Time Only)

You will support students to access learning and develop independence, working in collaboration with our teachers and leaders to implement appropriate learning programmes.

Key responsibilities

• promote the vision, values, and strategic plan of our school

• ensure that the needs, wellbeing, health and safety of our diverse learners are met in a way that gives learners choice and agency, while still gaining necessary skills and knowledge

• support students to access learning and develop independence

• work in collaboration and under guidance from our teachers and

• leaders to implement appropriate learning programmes

• promote a collaborative, inclusive and supportive learning environment

• genuinely engage in Professional Learning

• be committed to Te Tiriti principles and Te Reo Māori revitalisation.

Person Specification: We require someone who demonstrates:

• work in accordance with the strategic goals, policies, and procedures of our College

• develop professional knowledge, attitudes, and skills

• support student literacy and numeracy to NCEA Level 1

• demonstrate good verbal, written and IT communication skills be approachable and friendly

• maintain strict confidentiality and is professional

• be flexible and adaptable to a range of situations
